Modalities & Approach
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy originally developed to treat trauma and PTSD. It works by helping the brain reprocess distressing memories so they’re no longer as emotionally charged or overwhelming. Think of your brain like a filing cabinet—trauma can cause certain memories to get "stuck," making it hard to function in the present. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, like eye movements or tapping, to help your brain file those memories away properly. You still remember what happened, but it no longer feels like it’s happening right now. Research shows EMDR can lead to faster and more lasting relief from trauma symptoms compared to traditional talk therapy.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & others.
CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a highly effective, evidence-based approach to treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. It’s based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected—and by identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns, we can create real change in how we feel and act. Imagine your mind like a pair of glasses: if the lenses are smudged with distorted thoughts (“I’m not good enough,” “Nothing will ever change”), it’s hard to see things clearly. CBT helps you clean those lenses by teaching practical tools to reframe thoughts, regulate emotions, and respond more effectively to stress. It’s structured, collaborative, and focused on helping you build lasting skills for everyday life.
Mixed Modality
I work from an integrative framework, blending a variety of modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. My approach draws on socratic questioning, psychoanalytic theory, humanistic values, motivational interviewing, somatic therapy, and spiritual exploration. Whether we’re uncovering unconscious patterns, tuning into the body’s wisdom, or connecting with a deeper sense of purpose, I tailor our work to support meaningful healing and growth in a way that feels both grounded and expansive.
My Approach
Do you connect best through humor? Prefer a more serious tone? Or maybe you feel most comfortable opening up while talking about your favorite hobby? However you show up, we’ll create a space that feels natural and safe for you.
